My Birthday Boy!!

My amazing husband had a birthday last Tuesday on September 28. We spent the night out and had dinner down at the Gateway at Tucanos, which is a Brazilian steakhouse for those of you who don't know. So of course its one of Danny's favorite places to go since he served his mission in Brazil, plus its all you can eat meat so of course he loves it. Also an FYI to you all, I guess you can go to the Tucanos website and sign up to be on their birthday club. They send you a postcard for your birthday that you can go any time during your birthday month and buy one meal get one free. Danny had signed both of us up for it so we were able to use it on his birthday and get both our meals for 20 bucks before tax and tip and stuff. So it is an awesome deal and I suggest if you like a good steakhouse meal you should go sign up for it. It's delicious! Here's the handsome birthday boy at Tucanos! He's such a stud!
When we got home he got to open my presents to him
I wasn't going to put up all of the pictures of what I got him, but then I decided it was more fun to show you rather than just tell you!
He got a brown polo from AeroHaha and I think this picture is just funny and cute of him
MLB 2010 for his Playstation 3
Iron Man 2, the Blu Ray, DVD and Digital copy
A button-up shirt from Kohls that he had liked
I made him open this one last because I knew that it would be his favorite and that he would have no idea he was getting it. You can't see it very well in the picture but it is Fifa Soccer 2011 for his PS3. Every time we went to a store for the last like 5 months he would go look at Fifa Soccer 2010 and would always talk about how he wanted it so bad, but he would never just buy it. So when I was trying to figure out what to get him for his birthday I was trying to find a good deal on it and realized that the 2011 version was coming out on his birthday. So I was really excited because he had no idea that the new one was coming out for his birthday. And I'm pretty sure I ended up being right that it was his favorite present. He has played it almost every day since he got it and he is already like way good at it. Haha.

It was lots of fun to get to spend the day celebrating Danny and his birthday. I pretty much have the most amazing husband in the world. He is such a sweetheart and I love him so much. I don't know what I would do without him. I have the cutest story about him to show just how amazing he is. I have been meaning to post about this for weeks, but I haven't been good at blogging again. So several weeks ago at work I was having a really crazy and stressful day. I had 2 members that had come in with problems that took me forever to work out with them, and then another one that came in that wanted to do an international wire transfer right before close that turned out to be a disaster. So anyways it was just one of those days that I just couldn't wait to get the heck out of there. Well I hadn't talked to Danny at all that afternoon because I was so busy at work. So he didn't even know that I was having a crummy day. So when I finally got home I was very surprised that he had bought me flowers for no reason at all. They were sitting on my counter. It was like the sweetest thing ever. And it couldn't have happened on a better day cuz I was in such a bad mood and it was just so sweet that it made my night turn right around. That was the day he also bought the wall hangings for the baby's room that I had wanted, which I talked about in my last post. I didn't get those for a few days, but it was just so sweet of him to even think to get me flowers or those, cuz he had no reason to do it. He is just amazing like that. I love him so much! And there are so many days I will come home from work and he will have straightened the apartment or cooked dinner, or the other day I got home and he had bought me a donut from Beyond Glazed (which I am pregnant so of course treats are very exciting for me). He's just adorable and I am so happy that he is mine!
Here is a picture of me with the flowers
And one with him and the flowers... Haha I love that he is such a goof
Just another angle of the flowers. They were so pretty and they didn't die for like 2 weeks so they were fun and cheerful to have around the house.

Soon To Be Nursery

So since we are still in our one bedroom apartment we haven't been able to set up our nursery yet. But we have bought some of the main things for it and I am so excited about them I have to put them on here so that everyone can see them now... Haha.
I had to get both of my photos from Amazon.
So this is the crib that we bought. We don't have the other furniture, just the crib. We bought it at Costco and it is a Child Craft and has a dark brown espresso finish, even though in the picture it looks black. We got an awesome deal on it so we are way excited about it.
This is the bedding that we got. We got it off Ebay for a way good deal as well. It is made by JoJo Designs. They had so many super cute bed sets but this is the one that we decided to go with. It came with 9 pieces- the comforter, bumper, crib sheet, crib skirt, diaper stacker, toy bag, decorative pillow, and 2 window valences. And then Danny, being the cute husband he is, bought me the 3 wall square decorations! I just can't wait to get to set it all up!

Grandpa Anderson's Funeral

Danny's grandpa on his mom's side passed away on August 31st. He had been doing dialysis for over a year and decided that he didn't want to do it anymore. So he stopped doing dialysis about 2 weeks before he passed away. He was a real sweetheart and he will definitely be missed. I met Grandpa Anderson around 4 and a half years ago and though I didn't know him very well, I am very glad I got to know him. Especially because without him I wouldn't have gotten my amazing husband. We were very lucky and grateful to get to go spend an evening with him right after he quit dialysis. I was especially grateful that Danny was able to get that time with him. And it was kind of fun because during our talk with him we put it together that he had been friends with and had worked with my best friend from high school's grandpa. It's such a small world. Here is a picture of me and Danny with Grandpa and Grandma Anderson at our wedding
His funeral was last Wednesday, September 8. There was a great service and then these pictures were all at the cemetary, Wasatch Lawns.
The grandsons were the pallbearers

Me and Danny
Me and Kaylee... Ya it was windy and hard to keep my dress down! Haha

24-26 Weeks

Well today I am 26 weeks along. I have been meaning to update this for a few weeks but I hadn't gotten around to it until now. I have been feeling pretty good for the last little while so that has been nice. Thanks to everyone for the tips on my last post, I have only gotten a couple of charlie horses since and they have been very mild. The only thing that's been kind of a bummer is that I haven't been sleeping the best. I usually wake up several times a night. Most of the time I am able to fall right back to sleep, but some nights it takes awhile and I wake up pretty exhausted. But I figure it's just practice for when the baby gets here right? Haha. I am starting to feel her a lot more, so I am loving that. Some days I swear she is the most active baby in the world cuz I will feel her so much. But then other days I will hardly feel her. So it's kind of funny. I can't wait for her to come so that I can see her and get to know her personality better. Danny has gotten to feel her lots of times now and it is always really fun when he feels her because he gets so excited about it and talks about how much he loves her already. It is really cute. We are definitely getting excited! This is me at 24 weeks, people can definitely tell I am pregnant now!
So during my 24th week we were able to get another ultrasound with my doctor. This is a new ultrasound machine that they got up at Alta View and it has 4D capabilities which you will see in later pictures. It was fun to be able to see her again.
This first one shows her heart rate.
This is a cross section of her skull that they measured. It is still showing her about a week further along.
This is a cross section of her abdomen. These measurements show her more than 2 weeks further along, but my doctor thinks that she didn't have the best angle on it so its probably not a correct measurement.
Here is her femur. This measurement shows her about a week further along too. I hope that means she comes that soon. Haha
More proof that she is a girl.. Haha
I believe that this is a fist, but I can't remember for sure.
Here's a cute little foot!
Here's her face
So these are the 4D images that we got. They tried to get her face, but she wasn't being very cooperative and her arm was covering most of it. We did get to see one of her eyes and her nose but they weren't able to save the picture in time. But it was awesome to get to see that at least. Danny thinks her nose looked like our nephew Braxton's nose! So it will be fun to see if that's true when she comes out.
So this picture shows her bum and legs. You can see her little fist going up to her mouth too. And my favorite part is how you can see her little feet are crossed at the ankles. It is just so adorable to me!
This just shows the same thing, but it's not quite as clear. But these pictures are just so fun. it's crazy to be able to see her like this. It makes me even more excited for her to actually come.

20 Weeks

Well today I am 20 weeks 4 days along. My belly is starting to get bigger and show more and I am feeling her move a little more in there, still not on a regular basis though. I have been feeling pretty good, the only thing that I can really complain about is always having heartburn, especially when I lay down to go to sleep, and there have been a few nights in the last week or so when I wake up in the middle of the night with super painful charlie horses in my right leg and foot. There are three places that keep seizing up on me, my calf, a muscle that runs up the right side of my leg which causes my foot to turn out into a way painful position, and then the arch of my foot. I always wake up and just one of the muscles is tight but the longer it takes to get rid of it, the others start seizing up too. I'll get one to relax and another will start up. It gets worse when more than one of them is seized up at the same time. And its unbearable when all three are at the same time. It puts my foot in a position that I know it is not supoosed to be in. The first time I had one of these episodes was right after Danny left for work one day. And I hurt so bad I was bawling for like 5 minutes because no matter what I did I couldn't get it to stop. And then it happened again last night and Danny was actually here so he would start rubbing where it was and at least for the most part they weren't seizing simultaneously. But they still did a couple times... I've been trying to get better at getting potassium and such, but I guess it hasn't been quite enough. But if any of you moms have had this happen and know of some trick or secret to avoiding this I would love to hear it!! But besides that, things have been going great! We are getting more and more excited the further along I get! Here is a 20 week picture!
So a day before 19 weeks I had my ultrasound through the doctors office. I was not very impressed with the experience. We did it at the Alta View radiology center. I think one of the hardest things there is that the only screen they have is the screen the tech is looking at and the way they have it positioned makes it hard for the mom the see whats on the screen. But I was mostly not impressed with the tech that did it. She really wasn't friendly at all. I understand that its important to get your job done quickly and effectively but that doesn't mean that there aren't some very excited future parents who are happy to see their baby, the least you could do is act like its important for those people. I don't know, maybe she doesn't like her job. But personally I think it would be such a fun job, because having a baby is exciting! I was going to go into ultrasound, but it was such a hard program to get into. But I still think if I ever were to go back to school that would be top of my list on what I would want to do. But anyways, we were just really glad that we found out our baby's sex at the Fetal Studio. The guy there was so nice and he seemed so excited for us. This girl didn't even know we already knew and when she told us you would have thought she was telling us we were giving birth to a tumor or something. I posted something on Facebook after I got home about how it wasn't a very good experience and a friend who is also pregnant said she had like the same experience when she went just a few weeks before. They hadn't known what they were having and she said it was really hard to get excited when the lady told them because she was so awnry about it... But you know, no matter what it was just fun to see our baby again and I am just glad our 1st ultrasound experience was better! Here is her cute little profile again! We just love her little nose so much!
Here you can see her face
Bottom of the left foot! :)
And now of the right...
Here's her knees, legs and feet. And at the right of the picture you can see the top of her head. She has her knees up in her chest and she's curled in a little ball.
Here you can see her curled in a ball again but it's from the side angle. On the right you can see her head and then the spine curls up around the top and then her legs are tucked up to her chest. She's just so adorable huh? Haha

Baby Update

Well I had my 16 week appointment yesterday and everything went great. The baby's heart sounds great and everything seems to be going great. So we are very excited about that. So our official doctor ultrasound is set up for July 12, so 3 weeks from yesterday. Even though we already know that we are having a sweet little girl we still can't wait to see more pictures of her and see her move around again! :)
On another fun note, we are like 75% sure that I felt our baby move last night for the first time. It was kinda funny because me and Danny were looking at things on the internet about what's going on with baby now that she's 16 weeks and one of the things that it was talking about was that I might start feeling her move. So then we were talking about how I haven't and that from what we have heard it usually takes a couple more weeks for first time mommys. So then I started looking at other websites that were telling me that she is approximately the size of an avocado and is about 4.6 inches long. Well as I was looking at it I suddenly felt this weird flutter in my stomach. The best way I can describe it is that it kinda felt like when you are at Lagoon and your stomach kinda flips when you are riding a ride, but it was lower and not as intense as a feeling. So then I was like Oh, and grabbed my stomach because it had come out of nowhere. It didn't hurt but at the same time it wasn't the most pleasant feeling either. But it only lasted a second so I really didn't think anything of it. But then within 30 seconds I felt it again with the same reaction. So I jokingly told Danny, Maybe it's the baby. But then it happened again a few moments later and then for a 4th time and at that point I was really starting to think that it was. So I called my sister and asked her if thats what it would feel like. Well after talking for a few minutes she said that it sounded to her that most likely I was feeling our baby! So anyways we aren't positive that I did but we are pretty sure it probably was. So that was a lot of fun. I can't wait til when I start feeling her more on a regular basis and also for when Danny will be able to feel her move and kick around in there. He is so cute about all of this. I have the sweetest husband ever! He is always talking to and kissing my tummy. And he is just so excited for when our little girl gets here!

It's A......

Girl!! Well we are a little shocked, at least I am. I was positive that it was a boy, but I was wrong. But I am so so so so so excited to have a little girl! We couldn't be happier! So anyways I am 14 and a half weeks and we just couldn't wait til 20 weeks to find out so we went to the Fetal Studio at the mall yesterday afternoon and got this ultrasound done. Our technician was from Lithuania. He was an OB GYN there for 15 years and then he moved here 9 years ago to be with his 2 daughters that live here. We realize that there is a small possibility that it might not be a girl for sure since I am still only 14 and a half weeks, but he was extremely well qualified and he was very sure from these pictures that its a girl. It was a really cool experience to watch her move around in there. So cute! We can't wait for when she will arrive! So this is the first still shot he took. The first thing he said when he saw it was look at the cute little nose! And then he said Looks like a girl to me. Which we still can't decide if we think that he was joking or if he could really tell that she looked more like a girl. We had already listened to the heartbeat so maybe he was just already suspecting it was a girl from that, who knows!
This is my favorite picture of them all. I also think it shows the best and most clear profile of her. But you can see that she has her fingers in her mouth. I just think it is so adorable! I hope that means she will take a binky!
This is another profile that he got. But it's not as clear as the other two.
So this picture is taken from the top angle. At the right you can see her brain through her skull. Then you can see her eyes and nose and chin. And then you can see her individual fingers and she has them up to her mouth again.
This is just another one from above that kinda shows her face again.
And here are the deciding ones! This one shows her little bum and legs. The guy was so funny. He says See, no pee pee. Haha.
This is showing the side angle of her legs and belly. You can kinda see a horizontal white line where her leg is coming out of her body. So I guess if thats how it looks its a girl and if it was a boy it would be poking out more vertically between the leg and the body.
So there you have it! Our adorable little girl! We are so excited! So things are going pretty well. I was feeling pretty good through my 1st 12 weeks. There were waves of nausea, especially at night time but they were never bad enough that I wanted to throw up. The only time I did throw up I was feeling just fine but I gagged myself while I was brushing my teeth. Haha. But then 12 weeks came and I have been getting pretty sick. My allergies decided to pick up hard core. And it makes me cough, which in turn gags me. So now I have thrown up one more time is all, which I feel really lucky about, but of course it still sucks. But I have been fighting serious nausea a lot. I am hoping the cough end soon and I start feeling better. But I am very grateful still because I feel very lucky that I have not been super sick the whole time. I know I have been very lucky! So that is whats going on with me. Just getting really excited to welcome our little girl here! :)
